25 years ago today...

A friend owned a heavy equipment company. I was friends with their salesman. I used to deliver a rig for them on occasion. On April 19th, mid-morning I was delivering a test HD truck and dozer on a trailer to the Oklahoma DOT. About two minutes after I drove past the Murrah Building a man drove a rental box truck into the front, blowing it up. Many people were killed or injured. If I had missed the traffic light that block I would have been part of the story. Two blocks down, opposite side of the street, I was pulling in the DOT garage lot when the world blew up. It took every window out.

Sometimes I relive that morning. I just have had a creepy feeling kind of day all day.

God rest their souls...

A sad time in history for sure.
Today is the anniversary of yet another.
This day in 1999 two killers let loose a bloody rampage at Columbine High School.

If only we could understand why a human would do something so horrible to another human. I am very glad you are alive, I am sure God had a plan for you. Today a young couple got arrested for rape of their own daughter. It brings tears to my eyes to think of mans inhumanity to man. None of these things make sense and yet some freak thinks he is doing his gods(satan) work. We must thank God everyday we are alive and healthy. Please pray for their souls and pray for this dreadful disease to go away.

Sad day here in Canada also. A fool in Nova Scotia went on the rampage. 19 dead so far and a good many are women. Hard to figure out. He dressed as an RCMP officer and disguised a vehicle to look like a squad car. This gave him a lot of early access to victims. RCMP took him out at a gas station.
Idaho glad you are still here with us. God Bless

Sad but true fact that animals at the top of the food chain are usually their own worst enemy, even the so-called civilized ones. I’m sad to hear about the latest atrocity today in Nova Scotia, and also to remember the past ones.

Rather than calling these cowardly deeds tragedies, I prefer the term atrocities which makes it clear that these were premeditated acts, and not accidents.

One of my cousin's wife worked at the Murrah bldg. She called in sick that morning, her work area was completely demolished.

I was on a job sight in Connecticut that morning and I’ll never forget the general foreman can and found us and ask you boys are from Oklahoma right, we said yes sir, and he said someone just blew up a building there. We were like ya right nothing happens in Oklahoma. Later that day when we got back to our motel we turned on the news and saw the terrible pictures. Definitely a day I will never forget

At the time, I lived in Enid OK, about 80 miles northwest of Oklahoma City. On that day, my wife and I were vacationing in Jackson Hole WY, and heard about the explosion on the radio while we were heading over the west pass into Idaho and to Yellowstone for the day. I have friends in Hennessy OK (~30 miles NW of OKC) and it rattled their windows.
I've been to the memorial several times, and its a very solemn area. The chairs for the fatalities per floor, small chairs for the children at the daycare, nearby buildings with blast impacts, etc.
Amazing someone can have so much hate or issues that cause them to take such horrible action.

April 19 was also once known as Patriot's Day. The battle of Lexington and Concord took place on that day, when Neighbors stood together and said "No!" to the King's soldiers. They said "No!" to the lawful authority of the time. They passed their test.

April 19 is also the anniversary of a mass murder which took place at Waco, Tx. Eighty people were murdered by the lawful authority of the time, driving tanks over them and burning them alive, all the while saying over a bullhorn, "This is not an assault..."
Neighbors stood down and let it happen. They failed their test that day.
