2 YEARS AGO TODAY.

Today 2 years ago we lost one of the best gunsmiths I ever had the pleasure dealing with SID GOODLING. Some of you out there dealt with Sid so I know you grieve with me today and everyday that he's been gone. He was by far one of those guys that nobody disliked. I never heard anyone ever say a bad word about him. He would stop what he was doing if you needed help and he would help anyone. He was a rare gem gone way too early. Most of my 22 in number benchrest rifles were built by Sid and I cherish each one of them because they shoot better than I do. This may sound stupid but I still have his phone number programed in my phone hoping that he would call me one day like he use to. I love and miss you brother, I always will.

By your words I can tell you thought the world of him, nothing no better than a TRUE friend.

Not stupid at all,, it’s been 2 years since I lost my sister, we were very close, her number is still in my phone and just this week I was reading texts from her on it, there just great memories that I pray never leaves.

You would of loved the guy. Everyone I know who dealt with him felt that way. Just a super person.

I was pretty close to my father in law who passed last year. We would talk alot in the evening time about ones every 3 weeks. It took some time for me not to pick up the phone to call him or wounder why he had not called me. My sympathies.

I shot next to Sid a few time times at Nationals and Super shoots.. He was a great guy, always enjoyed seeing him.

My friend for 50 years was the first Bama elephant (not the first Big Al that began in 1979). I would help dress him in his elephant costume in the early 60's. We would talk once or twice per month and I called him elephant until he passed away in 2010. Elephant is still in my contacts and always will be.
