25-06

This site has loads reported by shooters, always verify listed loads against a reloading manual due to idiots and typo's

I have not played with that bullet, but if you have the Sierra Manual it shows their idea of the accuracy load and the hunting load. Those are just suggestions since any differences between guns or even just bbls will probably mean YMMV.

They used H4831SC for the accuracy load and RE17 for their hunting load. If you have one of those it is worth a look. Do you have their manual?

I’ve used that bullet in the 25-06.
Depending on the individual rifle -
H4350, IMR 4350, Reloader22, IMR 4831, H4831. All are reliable powders that will provide top velocities and accuracy.
Your rifle will probably show a preference.

can any one help, i have a box of sierra 100gr.pro hunter. any one have some load ideas for 25-06. thanks Rich
I had a close friend who always used 53gr of imr4350 with that bullet. It seemed to shoot pretty decent across several 25-06 rifles.

H4831SC works very well in my 25/06 from 75 grain Hornady VMax to Nosler 115 BT. Used H4831 SC for Sierra 100 gr bullets. Very accurate. I use Nosler 85 gr BT for varmints and Nosler 115 gr BT for deer. Some buddies were using the Sierra 100 gr and loved them. Said it was like hitting them in the head with a creek rock. Bang Flop…. The only bullet my rifle did not like was the Sierra 90 gr HPBT.

I just went through this with my new 25-06
I am shooting the same bullet over 54gr of H4831
WLR primer. OAL is just a bit over the Sierra std spec.
Shoots sub .75”
Work up all guns are different

IME H4831SC yielded about 100 fps more velocity than H4831 with great accuracy. If you are going a maximum velocity hunting load use RE 22.

The 25.06 and RL22 is like peas and carrots, it just works! I've had success with other powders but for me RL22 has always been my go to powder in this caliber. It produces very good velocity, is accurate and consistent.

On a side note ... when I recommend this powder I always add .... I've read and heard of RL22 being temp sensitive but I've honestly never experienced it myself. I'm not saying it doesn't or hasn't happened but I've personally never had an issue with it here in NC and I've been using RL22 for a very long time. Mike

no manual all others

The new Sierra manual is downloadable free on at the app store. Its format takes some getting used to. I love it now though.

Just downloaded from the apple store. It appears to charge an annual $4.99 subscription, if I am reading it right.
I've had the app for most of this year, $5 /yr is a great deal. Load data is conservative with most of what we use but great for comparing powders/velocities using the sliding thingy.
