25-06 to .257 Roberts brass

Has anyone made .257 Roberts brass out of 25-06? I cant find any .257 Roberts brass and have a bunch of 25-06. if so, how do you do it? I tried trimming the the 25-06 back and running it thru a .257 Roberts die. It collapsed at the shoulder. I'm trying to end up with a .257 Roberts Ackley (40 degree shoulder)

my thought is you have too much case length and the wall thickness will increase both the shoulder and neck so i would opt for getting some 6mm rem. 7x57 and alter them.

The easiest way is to use 7X57 brass, one pass through your 257 Roberts AI sizer and you will be ready for fireforming. 7X57 brass is also much more common than Roberts brass so it shouldn't take much effort to find some.

So far, without much effort, I have found at least three places on the internet that has stock of the .257 Roberts brass. What's the problem in finding it? :o

You can also use 6mm Remington brass, you'll find it very tough to get 25/06 brass to form to 257 Roberts as it should...

Its been a while ( 40 years) since i did it but you can use 270 or 30-06 7mm Just push the shoulder back in stages with other dies like 35 rem,308
The trick is not trying to do the re-size all in one step.
I had a 257 Roberts back in the 70's when cases were really hard to find.
So soon learned to make my own.Luckily the old 722 was so loose in the neck i did not have to turn or ream the necks
