25-06 Varminter Bullets?

Recently, I have acquired a custom 25-06 with a 12 twist barrel. I have dies, brass, powder, primers… but no bullets! It seems like the selection has greatly decreased and discontinued due to the popularity of 6 and 6.5 calibers. I’m looking for 100 grainers or less due to the twist. I believe 110s or 115s may stabilize if they weren’t too long. Does anyone know where to look for some lighter bullets?

I’ve always liked the 85 NBT in my 25-06 1V. It certainly is not easy finding components these days.I have used the Sierra 90hp and Berger’s Varmint bullets too.Hopefully you can find some Hornady 75 VMax bullets for that 12 twist.Good luck with your search, the 25-06 kills like lightning.

My grandfather had a Ruger #1 in 25-06, it was given to a cousin of mine as a gift, and all the bullets went with it. We’re excited to have another.

My personal favorite is the Hornady 75gr V-max. I've killed quite a few Coyotes with that bullet and it has worked extremely well out of my 25.06. Accuracy has been very good and consistent. I haven't tried the 85gr BT but i have no doubt it a good one as well. Sierra also has several offerings in the Blitz king version that I'm sure are good too. It doesn't take much to take down a varmint, so I'd try several different bullets and see what your rifle likes and go with it.

The 87 grain Speer TNT shoots great. Verry accurate. The 100 grain Speer HP is very accurate as well.
