So in playing with loads for an upcoming antelope hunt in WY, I decided to give R17 a try in my 25.
I put it behind the 100 SMK and the results were, we'll say pretty amazing.
The load is right at what I consider max for what I like, there is probably a possibilty of a half grain more but the accuracy was impressive with the speed.
I don't have a picture of either the chorno or the target but the gun shot 4 shots into 6/10s and they were flying at a blistering average of.........3540! The high was 3560 the low was in the 3530s. SO there is some spead there but its good enough for killing.
The bullet seems to be 'outperforming' its coefficient.......anyone else ever experience this with the 100 grain 25 cal Sierra Matchking???
Anywho.....thought it'd be fun to see if others are having luck with this or I ran across something earth shattering.
Gun is a Ruger MKII Hawkeye, bought it last year and dropped it in a HS Stock and put a Timney trigger in it. Stock barrel.
Lets talk.
