I might be just plain stupid, but doesn’t Lapua make.243 brass. I dont see where added velocity gives any known advantages in either hunting or target applications.

In this case, I don't see where brass brand means anything. 243Win is not WSSM,, Lapua does not offer WSSM,, and cases as good as any ever made are plenty to dig out of Win reloading brass.

I agree though that the WSSM line should have begun at 25cal, with 26 and 28.
It's capacity is not best for 22 & 24cal

I wouldn't put any stock in the manuals. There is 2.4gr more H20 capacity in 243wssm than 6mm, and the wssm is also more efficient. With this, you can bet the wssm would leave a 6mm in the dust.

The trick for most with the 243wssm is learning how to reload it. sticking cases, broken ej, is coming from not being sized correct. With the thick neck, its a pain to bump it back to where it needs to be. Use a gage and all that nonsense goes away.
Dtech upper 1/12 twist with some 80grn dominators, shoots lights out. very fun gun.
