.243 win. What reamer

I've had three 243 benchrest rifles. Two of them were winning rifles one was very competitive. All of them got between 12 and 1600 rounds of competitive accuracy. All of them were set up for Lapua brass and 115 gr. bullets. All 3 bbls. we're cut rifling and 1/7 twist. If it's taken care of and you are mostly hunting with some target practice you should get close to 2000 accurate hunting rnds.

@ Mr big,..
I shoot a .270 WSM ( 140's @ 3,200 FPS ) so I know / LIKE, the feel of, Speed / Power and for, strictly shooting, a Few more, Elk , 1 Moose, and some, Deer / Antelope,.. I'll probably never, wear it, Out.

But, I bought a 6.5 Creed, Tikka and, set it up, the same as my .270 WSM Rifle to, Practice Field Positions on Steel. Because, I believe in,.. "Keeping my Hand in" at, Field positions practice and, it's,.. Fun !
IF, I get an Accurate Barrel,.. I want it to, LAST a while, thus,.. the 6 XC.

H1000 lengthens barrel life on the 243 Win.

Also, SAAMI spec reamers do not do well with Lapua and norma brass, JGS has my CIP spec 243 Reamer on file

Long time ago fyi . Lots of scotch/burbon since then
Liked it so much I built 3 of them for me , and 4 for other close friends. 105s are Aoudad killing machines out to 780yrds. And it did really well 600 yard f class as well

I started with the 243 Winchester. Shot thousands of rounds through 1-10 twists 55-100 grain. Then 1-8 twist and a 1-7.5. The fast twist barrels were 105-115 grain bullets. I found the accuracy was phenomenal around 2960-3050. Barrels got hot in 20 shot f class strings. I switched over to 6br then to 6BRX. With the brx and 28-30” barrels I’m at 3000-3050. I still have a good old 243. But it doesn’t get used much anymore. I pushed the 7.5 twist to 3250-3300 with the 115 detac and I had jacket separations. I set the 32” barrel back to 29” as a 6BRX and shot 105 at 3050.

So if I add around .100 fb. It should be ok ?
.104 FB is the "Perfect" FB for, the 105 to 108's, in the Longer Necked, 6 XC ( Criterion chambered, Barrel )
I personally don't know, the dimension, for the .243, but Somebody "Here" should know what, the best .243 Win. FB is for, the 105 -108's ( 110- 115's will take, even More, FB )
I'm guessing, IT's,. MORE than,.. .100 tho !
guessing .130 + ??? I Just Googled a Few from,.. Snipershide to Manson reamers and, I see Dim's from, .060 at S-Hide up to .148 and .160 ,.. SO Don't guess ! Call Dave Kiff at Pacific Tool (541) 826-5808 or, James at Northwest
( Criterion) they will E-Mail, their Dimensions to you or, call Manson Reamers. Good luck !
