.243 Win load with 95gr Berger VLD

I shoot the 95 VLDs in my Rem 700 with the same twist. They shoot awesome. I tried the 105s but no luck. The 95s will do fine on your barrel. I can't offer any load data as I only use H4831sc in mine. Excellent groups for sure at around 3150 fps. Good luck.
That is great to hear, thank you. Would you mind sharing seating depth info?

I currently have two Savage 243's and at one time had a 12FV and a BVSS in 243. Years of reloading Savage 243's pushed me away from 95gr Berger VLD's toward better choices for the twist rate of the Savages. The Bergers would shoot great sometimes but more times than not they were no better than other choices. Over the years nothing out shot the Sierra 85gr HPBT or Nosler's 70gr Ballistic Tip. Right now I am trying to get the 90gr Hornady ELD's to shoot....no luck so far

It's my daughter's gun. I built it for her for her first youth hunt so it's a hunting rifle. I load it .015 off the lands for hunting but it shoots much better just bumping the lands when we shoot it targets from 200-600 yards. Shoots .2s at its best but typically half minute or so when set up for hunting from a magazine fed set up.

I have a Savage 12BVSS 243 actually 2 of them. Mine shot the 95 Berger VLD incredibly accurate. I jam 10K Winchester brass and cci #200 with IMR and H4350. I shot them in F class 3,6 and 1000. The H4350 was slightly more consistent than the IMR but both were very accurate. Then only thing i found was they wouldnt shoot at all not jammed in my rifles. 300 and 600 they were competitive but at 1k they were not for me. I stick with my 284 there. Matt

Good info, thanks for sharing. Hoping to have some luck with a little jump on these for hunting rounds, but if all else fails I can experiment with them on paper and once they're gone move on to the 87's.
