.243 for inner neck diameter?

.243 Win when I deprime and neck re-size my inner diameter at the neck is .243. At this measurement accuracy has been good. Should I adjust this up or down to see how accuracy is affected or leave it alone?

Neck tension and seating depth are the two biggest factors in accuracy after powder load.

My technique is to run very light neck tension and seat the bullets .020" into the rifling. Then the bullet is finished seating by the rifling itself as the bolt is closed. That way, the relationship between bullet and rifling is always the same.

It is just one way to find accuracy. You can try increasing and decreasing the neck tension and see what affect it has on your accuracy.

As far as actual neck ID is concerned. Measure the OD of the bullets you are shooting. Realize that most flat based bullets have a pressure ring (larger OD) at the base. Boat tails do not have this ring.

Experimenting is part of the fun in this game.
