6-284 neck diameter question

I am looking at buying an already chambered Krieger 28 inch heavy barrel in 6-284. The chamber has a .281 neck. What is the usual neck diameter for a no turn neck with the necked down 6.5-284 Lapua brass? Or does this .281 neck require neck turning? Thanks!

Frank

.281 is a big neck. (too big) .272-.276 are normal depending on brass used mine are all .276. I use Lapua and Win brass (no turn on either). Loaded rounds are .274 (Win brass).273 (Lap brass)

Frank,
Roger is spot on the norm I believe is .272 mine is .270 but I like tight n/k chambers so I have to clean the n/k up. I believe you will have concetricity issues with that over sized chamber unless you size it down in .002 or .003 increments not to mention the low case life, you remember the problems I had with mine with the .282 n/k >:( is there enough there to rechamber it? good luck Frank.
Wayne.

Frank,
The other guys are right, the .281 is big. Mine is .272 and I just clean mine up a little. You might be OK with it you'll just have to try and see. Good luck.
John

Thanks everyone for all the replys, I am going to pass on the barrel, it is listed on Gunbroker and supposedly chambered by Darrel Holland. I don't believe that he would chamber one that big? Here it is: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=227459406
