243 AI? ????

I have a Mauser chambered in 7-57 . Baught the gun in very good condition to rebarrel for 243 AI. Was wanting a good shooter for coyote and my son to shoot. I do not want to be turning case necks. What do you guys think. What options do I have? Thanks a lot.

Why muck round with a .243AI when you can have a std 6MM Rem with near identical case capacity and a nicer neck proportion?

Chris, Lapua brass and reduced case lengthening comes to mind. Down sides are short barrel life and increased muzzle blast.
