243 Ackley Improved load data for 105 grain amax and bthp

I shoot a ruger M77 MKII chambered in 243 Ackley 1-9 or 1-9.25 (hard to tell)
I just finished my work with Sierra 95 gr MK
it settled at 44.5 grains of 4350 2.80 OAL ...about .65, 5shot group

my real goal is to find a load for 105 grain amax and bthp

I had to buy the 95 grn smk because at the time there was no powder, primers, bullets or a president to be found in America.

but now I have 1200 105grn to play with
I will try ANY POWDER , but currently have 4350, 4831, v100 hybrid (hodgdon)

please ...EVERYONE shootin a 243AI chime in !!! anyone willing to fireform and anneal is a member of a small group

Go to the home page and click on 243Win in the list on the left hand side of the page. There are several loads there for bullet weights from 100Gr's to 107Gr's. It will get you in the ballpark quickly. Scroll all the way down to the bottom, that is where the 243AI loads are.

Buy some R22 and some H1000 they work good in a 243ai, H4350 will work good to, look in reloading manuals at regular 243 and start where they say to and work up from there to be safe, until you see pressure.

deano,,,,(op) you may not have enuff twist for the 105 class of bullets,,,,,you may shoot and try dozens of powders/seating depth/primer/etc and wonder why they wont shoot or what your doing wrong,,,,try a few and if they leave oval holes in the target at 100 yds due to yaw ,,,,stop and save your time and round count,,,Roger

RL 22 looks the best on QL 95% the bullet speed is near 20''of the barrel. RL 23 has good power curve but 95%of the speed is near 11 '' I feel your chamber will last longer with 22 .
