22X243 MIDDLESTEAD

So a Redding 243AI die set will work for a 22 cal bullet and seat it with hardly any Runout ?
Yup.
If you happen to have a Redding Comp seater, you can swap in a .22cal seater plug, if you’re wanting to split hairs. That’s another (maybe not so common?) ‘hack’ I employ to get the best use of tools already on hand. Redding dies, for the win! Easy to mix/match & load for multiple variants of the same parent case...
Basically the total opposite logic for opting for a proprietary wildcat. Heck, even the wildcats I design for myself are based on that same logic...literally anyone can do the same for themselves!
Have fun deciding, that’s part of the process!!!

it was my understanding that in the redding comp seating dies you could not change the seating steam from one caliber to another. as the body of the seating stem would drop right threw the die when trying to use a 22 cal seating stem in a 6mm die. same goes with the 22 creedmoor stem in a 6mm creedmoor die set.
