My guess is that he most likely doesn't know how to measure 22" or 1000 yds either.

They shoot the standard 200yd High Power target. SR. I took that game down to Memphis with me and held matches down there for a few years on the Official A21 200yd target. There is a small group of guys who still shoot it just about every Wednesday at the range there for practice. The A21 is no joke. But then again anything Smalbore in North Dakota Daily Tornado winds aint no joke either.

I think the hardest part to believe about the whole thing is when he says he put holes in the paper. I'd be more apt to bet that if he did in fact lob them 1,000 yards that they'd bounce off the paper.

Butch, at the end of our State Outdoor Smallbore Championship, they hold a 20 shot 200 yard prone match. Katie's shot in that twice now. Pretty fun to watch them lob them in from that far away. I believe they shoot at a 300 yard F-Class target. We even have a State Record for it. 200-12X by a young man a few years ago. Wind was blowing too hard this year. I think a 198 or 197 won it.

While I won't spend(waste) time doing the calculations, I will assume the trajectory of such a shot would make any penetrations through the target paper a slash, as opposed to a hole

Even if 1000ft above the target , stationary , I could not drop a rifle , nor a bullet and hit a 22"-22" target .
Here's what he did , measured 1000 inches ( maybe ) and aimed 1.08"high . Or he just lied .
Now I see , it's 1000feet = 333 yds . Well now it makes sense . Suprised it took so many shots with that match grade 22 !

I come up with 27 feet high at 100 yards and max height of 100 feet at 600 yards to get to 1,000 in my local conditions,,

306 MOA from a 100 zero and 3 feet of windage per 1 mph wind,..with SV Match ammo

if you had a 100 zero and wanted to holdover without dialing you would need something over 260 feet holdover

Just guessing at a BC and putting in an average 22RF load projectile weight and velocity, it's a pretty hefty holdover. Like shooting my 2" revolver at a 400 yd target

Wow, that's better than me. I took my precision 64FXP Savage .22LR rifle out for some long distance shooting. Only the best equipment of course. The rifle cost $99.95 new, the scope is a 3x9 BSA and was $39.95, and I use the best ammo, bulk Remington Golden Bullets. They are close to match grade and I measured a velocity spread of only 150 fps. On a 6" target at 200 yards, I managed 25 hits out of 33 shots. This is the wife's rifle but she lets me shoot it once in a while.

She probably "let's" you shoot it in hopes that you will dig into your pockets a bit deeper and purchase her a decent rifle. She would he better off if you take a hammer and knock the glass out of that scope so she could just look through the tube.

I do not know about a 1000 yards. Maybe but i doubt it. I do shoot mine out to 80+ yards sometimes and do better then some would think with my cheap rfs. When i tell people about the 80 yard shooting a lot of them just laugh. But it can be done at that range.

It's all dependent on velocity. Ranges from 1070-1300. The 270 moa was with 1235 velocity at .138 BC which was a CCI. Still a very very low percentage shot success
