I don't know about your 22 Varminter, This guy is shooting 40gr 22 RF

I think the hardest part to believe about the whole thing is when he says he put holes in the paper. I'd be more apt to bet that if he did in fact lob them 1,000 yards that they'd bounce off the paper.

Butch, at the end of our State Outdoor Smallbore Championship, they hold a 20 shot 200 yard prone match. Katie's shot in that twice now. Pretty fun to watch them lob them in from that far away. I believe they shoot at a 300 yard F-Class target. We even have a State Record for it. 200-12X by a young man a few years ago. Wind was blowing too hard this year. I think a 198 or 197 won it.

There is a 200 yard smallbore target, it used to be part of the agg in the Nationals.. but with a change in course of fire, it was taken out of the agg..

Looks like almost 270 moa to make it. Anything's possible I guess. If a guy has nothing better to do than to determine if he can hit a target at 1000 yards with a 22 rimfire, I say, have a ball. Cheap entertainment. Not as cheap as it was a few years ago tho.

It's certainly nothing you would have much success in with even a hint of wind. Have to be one of those few and far between days with zero wind. On top of that hundreds of shots even to get close enough to come up with drop or moa. Considering the 270 moa, it wouldn't be easy to duplicate it shot after shot. What kind of scope mount to achieve that much elevation ? More like a marked post with an aim point on it for consistent shots. Even then the group wouldn't be "a group"!

With Katie shooting her very fine rifle, I wouldn't bet against her. She is one of or the best junior shooters in the Nation, if not the best.

When I shoot a 22 lr at 300 yds ( std vel ) my scope base is almost 1 degree . 59.6 ish min . I wonder what the bullet rise would be .
