22Lr at 200 yards

I would like to try it sounds like fun I just got an old 22 Winchester can remember model. But anyways what’s a good accurate 22 out there on the market?

Well that all depends on your price range. CZs and Bergara if below $1000 and then up to Vudoos.

I shoot 100-500yd with my RimX all the time. Lots of fun.

Here some 200yd 10 shot group lot testing some R50 not long ago on a 20" 1.2" Straight Green Mountain 1:16 with my 22LR Match Eachus chamber

Ok y’all talked me into it! I carried a couple of 22 yesterday and it was pretty easy to get them to hit 10 by 10 steel plate at 200. And yes I get ordered a bunch of 22 ammo lol. Next range date smaller target and out to 250.
thanks for the scope dope it was real close for my guns.

Ha.. its fun. A tip if you are interested. When you are documenting your dope for 200+, I suggest chrono for each shot. A SV rimfire batch that isn't VERY consistent in velocity will make you chase your tail. Chrono them so you know why one was low/slow.. or one was high/fast.. I count for dope only the rounds that are close to the median velocity for that lot of ammo.

Or buy super expensive ammo and lose the cost savings of rimfire . lol. I am too cheap to buy the good stuff. I use Aguila SV, CCI SV or some of the discontinued CMP Eley SV.

Very important for 200 yards.. but when you go over 300??? It makes a BIG difference. .

Once in a while I would shoot at the 200 meter High Power Rifle Silhouette Chickens with my 40X rimfire. I don't remember exactly how much I had to dial up from a 40 meter zero but I do remember it was at least one full turn of the vertical turret on a 24X BR-D.

I had to hit the Chicken several times to knock it off the rail.

I shot this standing. Same sight picture as a 40 meter Smallbore Chicken.

Just shot a PRS match a couple weekends ago where the furthest shot was 376 yards (I even managed to hit it a couple times) . Here's my balastic data I used.

Pretty typical of what my CZ457/Bartlein does at 300 with SK LRM and 50 with just about anything you put in it. I'm cheap and limit my match ammo to $100/brick. Otherwise it's not so cheap to shoot 22s. Have you seen some of the prices of the top tier 22 match ammo?? Not even paying $20-25/box ha. I might one day just to see, but it's still a gamble on lots, and I really don't want to spend 50 cents a piece for a 22 anyway, kinda crazy to me. I'm perfectly happy with the various types of SK and CCI SV for what I'm doing, which is just local PRS matches and LR steel shooting out to 500 yards.
