22br neck turn question

Messing with some new lapua brass..
I'm using a 40° cutter to keep off the shoulder
See pic
Is it better to us a 30° cutter and tap the shoulder..I've done that and just doesn't seem right. But makes a donut on the shoulder...but the cut looks nicer
See pic
.I've also cut down and tap the shoulder with the 40° cutter, but I think this makes the brass to thin...
See pic
..what an I doing wrong here..or is one correct
Help...my brass is going in the trash at 1$ a shot..I ll be humble ..haha
Thanks..
It's hard to see the cuts in my pics but it's the best I can take of the situation..I'm unable to expand pic for close up..maybe you wont have that problem.

I just used a 30* cutter and just touched the shoulder. Been shooting fine.

Likewise, I use a 30 degree cutter with my 22br touching into the shoulder just a tiny ways and have never had any problems. You cases look like mine.

Cool..
I have thought.
How consistent is the brass on the shoulder of a rifle case..seems we can control every other aspect but that one..
.so if the cutter is taking off some brass from the shoulder does it really matter..will it help in the long run..provided there isn't a large step cut into the shoulder
.but just skimming it off..(just to be clear)..I am aware the deeper the cut onto the shoulder..the case neck will come off..haha..I know this for a fact....bahahaha..sorry I thought it was funny..say were not cutting into the neck..I've never ever here any one ever talk about shoulder brass build up..its got to flow some place..

I turn with a Lyman lathe style tool, it’s got a small round carbide cutter. I just take off “a little bit” at the shoulder. No problems yet with Remington, Norma, and Lapua brass. My necks get turned down to .2435 +- gives me .001 to .0015 clearance. Haven’t lost a neck yet.
