Neck turn to reduce donut

Please let's not do the 20+ page donut thread. If we could just stick to how far to turn into the shoulder. I want to turn a little into the shoulder to control donuts. I've heard stories of shooting the case neck down the barrel. Scary! So this is a 6.5 creed Lapua brass 20x fired. Neck thickness is 99.9 cleaned up. Thought I'd cut it off just to see. Couldn't! Limit of my cutter. Check it out.

Most people that turn into the shoulder do it before the neck angle changes like from a 220 russian to ppc. On that case thatll stay the same shape just make sure the cutter angle matches the case angle and just go until it shines all the way around. With that case i cant believe youre getting donuts to start with- i dont usually hear its a problem on those

Yeh, I only get mild donuts on the creed, the 243s another story. Cutter angle? I'll have to check that out. For both. Thanx

It looks like you cut into the shoulder quite a bit possibly thinning it too much. I try to get the cutter just to kiss the shoulder without digging into it. Sometimes it hard to see. The picture below appears to be cut too much but it's the glare that almost make the edge disappear.
