22BR Chamber

I have decided to rechamber a 22-250 to 22BR. What do I need to specify in the reamer neck diameter to get a no turn or minimally turned neck, and freebore for 50-53 gr Berger's and Sierra's seated with enough room to be set out once for throat erosion. Any other suggestions welcomed because I am sure there is a lot that I haven't thought to ask.

When Mike Bryant built my Rampro in 22 BR we had a custom reamer ground to use Lapua brass, with a .254" so no neck turning would be required. as for the freebore length, mine was set up as a 8- twist for teh 77-80 grain bullets so I can't help you there.

Hope this helps
Michael

If you make up some dummy rounds, your smith can take it from there. I'd keep the base of the bullets at least .060" from the neck-shoulder junction. More like .100" if you plan to use any longer bullets as well. That should still give you plenty of neck left to chase the lands.
