Any of you gun slingers ever reload for the .225 win.? I am trying to find the correct RCBS shell holder. Says to use a no. 11.... I tried that and very sloppy fit and sometimes the brass pulls right out of the holder. 11 can't be correct..... Your thoughts please.... Thank you, Jim

According to the Graff's chart 225 WIN #4 Hornaday, #10 Lee, #5 Lyman, #11RCBS, #4 Redding. Seems like they would use all the same number, but I am sure they have their best interests in mind , not ours.

Jimm-

Howdy !

You might try a shell holder for the 6.5 Arisaka ( if its number is one you have not already mentioned )?

Rim diam is just a few larger than .225Win, but the ( semi - ) rim thickness for the Jap case looks very close to that of the .225Win; and it sounds like vertical rim clearance within the shell holder is what you are trying to tighten up.

The only one I have that works really well looks like a Redding but it's marked MU-17. When I got my .225 based 6mm JDJ I dug through my old shell holder box until I found one that fit really well but I don't have a clue what brand it is, sorry!

I have done some looking and David Cushman web page has a posted list and his says the Pacific /Hornaday is an #18. Thats different than Graff's but it may not be right either. Had this problem when Lapua started making 338 Lap brass the recommended didn't work and I called RCBS, and they gave me another number and it worked much better. Wish I was more help. If you have an account at Cast Boolits they shoot a lot more of the older chamberings, someone there may know.
