.224 re-chamber ideas

I'm looking for ideas for a re-chamber job on a 1-9 twist .224 barrel, it is currently a .223 chamber. I'm leaning toward a 22-250 imp. Its going on a Savage LRPV I'd like to play with a faster twist .224 than the 1-12 that I have now but something with more velocity than a .223.

223 to 22-250 Improved, it would probably be cheaper just to buy a new rifle. You'd have to open up the bolt face for the 22-250 and then there's no going back. If you get a gunsmith to do it right you'll have maybe another $400 in the rifle and basically still have a stock Savage. A 9" twist is really too fast for bullets that get the most out of either chambering. A 14" twist is probably ideal to those 2 chamberings.

Yes it's a 22-250 now I can buy a new takeoff .223 barrel with a 1-9 twist, and either re-chamber to something else or shoot it as is. But I'd like to be able to shoot 75gr Amax's a little faster than I could with a .223. One reason I picked a Savage is Midway sells bolt-heads for $17.99 and barrels are pretty easy to change so switching calibers is pretty easy.

I just finished building a 22-250AI 9Twist 28" Shilen Bbl Rifle.
I built it expressly to shoot 75 Gr AMAX at Long Range. With 42 Gr of N165 I'm getting 3360 FPS at 75 degrees.
It shoots excellent at 100 yds. I can't wait to try it out at 800 yds on SD Prarie Dogs!
