224 Grendel Barrel

Check with Les Baer Custom. They offered rifles chambered for the .224 LBC, which would be identical to a .224 Grendel.

If you want to go the reamer route, check with Manson reamers. Dave has cut a handful, including a 20 Grendel reamer, for me and they have all done very well.

there's this tatical cannon site that seems to only sell parts related to 224 grendel
https://tacticalcannon.com/

AR-performance also had some barrels, as well as, columbia river arms under the 224 LBC.

I have no idea about customer service, reputation, or quality of any of these tho. Maybe others can comment on that

ar15performance.com. They call it the 224 predator. I have one of their 6mm predator barrels and one of the 224 predator barrels. I haven't used the 224 yet but I have shot the 6mm predator. It cleans up easy, accuracy is satisfactory, no wow factor but it's good. Weather the chambering is called predator, LBC, XXgrendel, or a few others its all about the same.

I bought a 224 grendel barrel and dies from ar15performance about a year back for the 224 grendel. If it interested you, I would part with it. Haven't used it yet, don't need it, but it's one of those things I thought I needed to try. Being I have the 6mm version and straight up .223's I just haven't put it together yet.

There is a new website out from I guy I have followed on instagram for the past couple of years. He started manufacturing 224 grendel barrels this year and the reports seem to be pretty dang good. His website is tacticalcannon.com. I shoot a blackhole weaponry 243 LBC barrel, I want to get one of the 224 grendel barrels from the above website. Biggest advantage that I can see is that he offers a rifle +2" gas system length which would be good for me running suppressed.

Found a guy to turn me a custom barrel. He comes highly referenced and his barrels plain out shoot. Looking forward to getting this upper finished up.

Who is the best source for a quality 224 Grendel AR barrel with a 7 twist?
I am wanting to build 224 Grendel, from a Howa mini Action, I have found a reamer , but where did you find dies? This is going to be a build for my Grandson so I want it on a Bolt gun platform thus the Howa. And do you resize the 6.5 brass to make the 224 Grendel case? Thanks for the info .

I got my dies from AR15performance.com but they only sell them to you if you buy a barrel. Check 6mmar.com I know he has them listed for the .224ar as he calls it, though they are expensive. In the past on some thing I bought a Forester ultra seater die. The sleeve is soft, so you could use your reamer in the sleeve and make a seater die from the Forester. Send a fired case, or your reamer print to Whidden for a custom size die is an option. Somebody has to have a set of .224 grendel dies though. Maybe a Redding bushing FL die for the grendel and a smaller bushing for the .224 neck is an option at a reasonable cost.

Use a Redding type S Bushing 6.5 Grendel FL sizer with a .270, .260, and .250 bushing and a seat with a 6.5 Grendel seater or a 22 PPC seater. They work great, just did several yesterday.

Have you looked at building a 224 Valkyrie. 22 grendel is a tad shorter and fatter, but both would run close to each other in performance/speeds IMO.
I was going to build a 22 off the 6.5 grendel, but decided to build a 224 valykrie. I wont have to do any forming.
Brass, dies, ammo, barrels etc. available, order all parts online. Mine will be a 1/7"tw and 22" barrel.
(I see you have already got the 22 Grendel going)

The 224 Grendel will outperform the Valkyrie by about 10% in velocity, with any given load, so with a 90 gr bullet you are looking at 2700 fps with the Valkyrie, and right around 3000 fps with the 224 Grendel. The only advantage that goes to the Valkyrie is if you don’t handload, you can pick up factory ammo.

I just had the same thing done. I had PTG make a reamer so I can shoot 95 gr. SMK's. (Special Free-Bore). Benchmark Barrels still has my reamer. They do incredible work and they'll make you real happy. Thanks.
