223AI vs 22BR

Hi guys, looking for some advise/opinions, I am would like to build a fast twist 22 cal for varmints/targets, needs to able to feed reliably from a magazine. Thinking of either 223AI or 22BR, would like to stick with something that is not a barrel burner. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance, Matt

If it's mostly for targets, and the occasional club match I'd go with the 22BR. If you need thousands of rounds for a yearly prairie dog expedition, then the 223 AI gets the nod because the brass is much less expensive if you use once-fired stuff.

For terminal ballistics, mist factor), the 22BR will sling 40gr bullets about 200 fps faster.

I would build a 223AI. I have one, and shoot Winchester white box 45's factory ammo in it for fireforming. That ammo is cheap, and accurate.

I am currently using 30grs of H335, with a 40 gr Blitzking, and getting 3850fps from a 22" Ruger tube.

I like the AI's because not a lot of dicking with cases since you can just shoot cheap factory loads.

Reliable magfeeding = 223AI

One can easily modify a 223 Rem 700 action and mag box to feed long seated 223AI rounds...
