.223 with 9 twist- Best bullet for mid ranges?

Just tried some 75gr Amax in our Savage LRPV with a 9 twist and it did remarkably well to 950 yards on steel at Rayners. Did well enough Son is going to use it and leave the 260 home this match.

Loaded them to 2.490 OAL with 24.5 of 8208 XBR. Chrono said 2860 fps. and it matched up nearly perfect with JBM thru all the distances so I'd say it was pretty close.

My Savage 1/9" twist spits the 69smkhp at 2873 fps w/ blc2 & varget, sub moa @ 100yds.
I have shoot the steel at 700 yds out here and spalt em at 5.5" - 6" w/ NO winds.
