Holy poopTry Husqvarna's mixed gas and oil in your weed eater and chain saws - $7.00 a liter, 97 octane, non-ethanol. Wonderful and worth every penny.
Thank you for your reply and answer with the amount / cost $....Figure $150 on the low end, $250 or so on the high end.
@Knotwild, at $7 a liter, I'd spend myself into poverty feeding my Stihl 076!
Do you have a gunsmith or machine shop in your neck of the woods?Thank you for your reply and answer with the amount / cost $....
Just as well put a new bbl on it. ~$349..SS bull match grade..
If the listed price is for a chambered barrel, you're in good shape.Thank you for your reply and answer with the amount / cost $....

I've been there on all accounts! I had a guy with pre 64 M70 that wanted an Ackley or a set back, I don't remember, that was something like .012" out from the throat to the back of the chamber. You can only fix them so much...It is not unusual for a factory barrel to be .006 out of alignment with the centerline axis of the bore. So, you may end up with a chamber coming into the bore at an angle. How much effect this has on accuracy and harmonics, banana shaped brass is all a guess.
It may be a good idea to indicate the barrel in, determine the run out on the chamber, cut off enough of the chamber to straighten the mess out, then bore the existing chamber straight, then ream with the finish reamer. This is a bunch of work to say the least and you may walk away from the lathe a couple of times, cussing and kicking the rubber mat, swearing at how in the world you let yourself get into this mess!
But, finished results will result in a 1/4" barrel, or there abouts with you having no more than .003 run out in the throat.
