223 Savage Model 12 What to do?

I bought a new Redding Type "S" die set with the adjustable "micrometer" seating. ( I've been using RSBC dies. I'm planning on "touching the lands" and see how it does.
I'm going to try N135 and also the H322 ( that I have been using)
CCI BR 4's or 450's.. Primers.. Will provide a report on findings..

I got the 53 gr Vmax's loaded up with H322 and my friend shot the Savage Mdl. 12 hunting prairie dogs two weeks ago in WY.. it did great.. It shot much better groups and the splatter effect seemed to be much than before with the 50 gr Vmax's..
"Prairie Dogs Splatter."

While everyone has a different opinion I think you need to do some load development to see what powder and bullet combo YOUR gun likes.. There is no short cut. My son has a Savage 12 FV/223 and it likes H335 and Sierra 52 gr match bullets. We found this load after a few weeks of testing and shooting..

I have one of those from that era (mine is 2005) and its 1:9". Its favorite load was the berger 55gr FB Varmint (22311) but for a lower cost alternative, the Nosler 50 or 55gr BT and Varget
