.223 Remington commercial ammo.

Still caught in the snow. Supposed to get up to 50 tomorrow so I may have time to take the loader out and clear a walking path to the target stand. Did have time to mount a new Shilen 26" barrel in .223. Ought to be a good test if I ever get around to it. Whatta Hobby!

FWIW, have a Shilen 26” select match 7 twist bull barrel on a Savage 110 .223 action . Shooting at 3 and 4” gongs at 500. Has taught me the value of a premium barrel !

Range distance: 500 yards
Average muzzle velocity: 3,180fps
Conditions: Calm for the the first 5 shots and then a slight cross wind picked up blowing from my right to left.

The last shot was high at 12 o'clock and was caused by me relaxing when I pulled the trigger and allowed the bag to drop slightly. I was squeezing the bag for these shots.

Same target with 3, 5 and 10 shot progression.
