My Quickload-fu is not the greatest, but some monkeying around suggests your powder is going to be a little faster than what you suggested. Seems to favor the same typical powders as the 300 blackout... Accurate 1680, IMR 4227, etc. If I go to H4198 it would be a compressed load.
Calculated in Quickload by modifying the 300 blackout profile. Changed case length to 1.74, increased case capacity to your number, COAL at 2.4", Berger 115 FB. Not sure how well that will reflect real world data but hopefully it's helpful.

I did a similar expedition. I took the 6.8SPC and necked it up to .30 and moved the shoulder forward 50 thou. Also changed the shoulder to 30 degree. I have shot 110 Hornady V Max, 115 Berger, 118 Cheek and 125 Nosler through the barrel. Of course had to get PT&G to make a reamer. I cheated a little and had a friend take a 6.8 sizer die and cut the hole at the neck to accomadate .30 cal and neck sizing bushings. Only problem is the shoulder is different. So in the end I had to have Hornady make me a set of dies. If I hadn't changed the shoulder it would have been ok. Any how, I tried Varget. Too Slow. Then AA2230. Pretty good. Then H4895. Fair. Then the standard benchrest powder H4198. Very good. About 31 to 33 gr is just right.

I had not considered or thought of the AA1680 or IMR 4227 powders.. But H4198 was in the back of my mind.. as well as LT32.

i had looked at the SPC case. I even thought about turning the heads down so that they would fit the .378 bolt. With the 31-33 grain range that you have experienced with yours, that is right in the same area of the 30BR i believe.. Thank you so much for your input, i do greatly appreciate it!
Wish we'd gotten together on this last week, Doc. Had my computer with me at the seminar, and we could have played with QL a bit.

The 30-223 is different from the OP's cartridge.
30-223 has a case length of 1.376" and 25 gr of H2O capacity and 2.260" coal to fit in the AR15 mags.
OP's case is much better since it will not be limited to 2.260"coal and the case length is much longer and more internal capacity.
I did my best to model it in QL and run the #'s for ya....

OP's case is much better since it will not be limited to 2.260"coal and the case length is much longer and more internal capacity.

I could say I did not expect anyone to jump in and start reloading a 30/223 Remington without solving all the problems created without engaging the mind first. A better choice would be the 270/223 or the 280/223 Remington. I do not recommend a reloader neck a case up to a diameter that is larger in diameter than the case body. At best the 223 case would have to be turned into a straight walled case. With the 270 or 280 diameter bullet the case could have a hint of a shoulder.

If you'll be shooting this in a bolt gun, let me suggest you look into a .30 BR. It is formed from a 6 mm BR case, which has the same head size as a .308 or .243, but it uses a small rifle primer. The fatter case (relative to the .223 case) gives you more efficient burn rate. I use mine for 200 yard matches and am very happy with it. I use the 115 gr Berger or the 112 gr. BIB bullet.
