223 ISSF COAL with 85.5 LRHT

Anyone running the 85.5 Berger LRHT in a .223 bolt gun with the ISSF reamer (169 FB I think)?

I’m trying to figure out if this combo will fit in AICS mags.
Looking to confirm:

COAL to lands

COAL you're loading

I am, I single feed though, I have the MDT mag that allows around 2.55", I think at that coal the boat tail/bearing surface junction is in the donut area. I will check my numbers when I get home. My barrel probably has 1k rounds on it roughly, so I may have a bit more free bore than a new barrel with the ISSF.

You will definitely be able to mag feed them though.

If you don't mind being in the donut, it will work fine. I have mag fed 88gr ELDs which are way longer. Not optimal though and at that point unless you have a 30" barrel there isn't any advantage over something like a 75gr ELD, or 80gr SMK, etc.

I was looking at my 223 mags the other day thinking the same. Mdt could be opened up to 2.6” and the accurate mag could be opened up to 2.65”

This is MDT mag I modified so I can shoot the 85.5 Berger in my Brad Urban 223 ISSF
It is easy to do the mags just remember to leave that little spot at the bottom of the plastic insert so the two halves can butt together I did it on the side of a std bench grinder wheel easy as pie
I only load about 6-7 rounds in it after this mod It is not perfect but works out pretty good

Roughly 2.550 COAL and 2.00 BTO with 85.5 berger They Hammer with Varget
