222x35 anyone?

Any of u old timers have any experience with a 35 degree 222 rem? I have a bunch of brass that I have been wanting a squirrel rifle for , time to revisit the project

Someone here plays with it because he sent me a few pieces of formed brass a couple years ago. I necked them up to 6mm and made dummy rounds with intentions of having a reamer cut, but I never got around to it.

I can’t remember who it was that sent me the formed brass though.

LOL, I just turned down a old 222 x 35 Wilson seater to use as a 221 FB seater . Haven't had a barrel for that in years . It shot very well in matches but the PPC put it out of business .

Rob, a stock 222 is a hands down winner for ground squirrels and P. dogs...dies, brass, abound!

H335 in a std 222, rem 7 1/2, 50g is a real winner in accuracy, SPEED, and barrel life!

I happened upon a old benchrest rifle the other day at the gun store. It was a Remington XP100 with a heart barrel marked 222 .243.
I asked a friend of mine that's my gunsmith and long time benchrest shooter to look it over and see what he thought about it. He said that it was a 222 with a tight neck and the barrel looked good after bore scoping. Went back to the gun store, got a fair price and purchased the rifle. Then went and turned some new Lapua 222 brass down and proceeded to test fire. Closing the bolt was tight but nothing alarming. After firing I inspected the brass and notice that this was a 222 with a 40° shoulder. I sent some brass to David Kiff and he drew me up the specs off of the cases and he to agresetthat it was a 222 tight neck with a 40° shoulder. Sent some brass also to Kevin Weaver and he was able to make me a set of dies. Right now I'm in the process of fire forming the rest of the Lapua brass, but so far the gun is shooting phenomenal. Can't wait to see how it does after resizing and working up a really good load with some 53 grain hillbilly bullets.IMG_20220407_085138.jpgPXL_20220411_213430018.jpg
