Love that rifle, absolutely beautiful! I have one in 223 but would trade it in a heartbeat for a triple deuce. Here's mine. Remington Varmint Special 222. Have its big brother in 22-250 to.
About 5 years ago I sold this rifle to my gunsmith/friend. I begged him to sell it back to me. A short while back I bought a Sako HB in 222 and he wanted it so I ended up selling it to him. A couple week later he said he had no use for two 222's and was going to sell the Remington. It cost me more than what I had originally sold it for but I did get it back. He said in the 5 years he had it he put 20 rounds through it. Its mint, looks like it was made yesterday. Totally 100% untouched from the Remington plant. Not a scratch or ding and the blueing is perfect. This one will never leave me again.Love that rifle, absolutely beautiful! I have one in 223 but would trade it in a heartbeat for a triple deuce.

Five beautiful rifles. Wish I had a clone of the BDL.Heres five of my 222s. When I was young my Uncle had a Sako Vixen and once and a while he would let me and my cousins handle it. It sat in one of those gun cabinets that looked more like furniture with glass doors. He had some other rifles but that 222 always centered my attention. I think it was because of how small the action and forend was and for some of the shots he made with that rifle. I spent much of days when I was teenager reading every hunting magazine and firearms magazine I could. I won Grand Champion at the country Fair with my 4-H steer when I was in the eighth grade and bought the ADL you see at the bottom. I guess I’ve always loved 222s, accurate, no recoil and just plain cool. Got one? Share a pic, I’d love to see what’s out there.

Remington ADL from the 60s, it rode in every truck I’ve had since I could drive.
nicely done. This weekend I just finished working on this one. Replaced the junk factory stock with this laminated one. Floated the barrel and bedded the action while I was at it.
barrel looks about 4.5 feet long!View attachment 1700341
My oldie but a goodie. Smithed bye Ken Kleinendorst topped off with a 24x Unertl.
I believe if memory serves me correctly it’s 21”barrel looks about 4.5 feet long!
I’ve never even thought about LH 222s. I’m sure there’s some out there be it far and few in between. I don’t know if you have a sako dealer down in NZ but I know Sako is offering the S90 in 222 and they make LH rifles. A dealer might able to order one up. The new Sako 90s come with a threaded barrel as an option, I’ve been eyeing a couple of them with 20” barrels for surpressor use.I've watched this thread from the start and no one has posted a pic of a left hand 222 yet, I have been looking for one for several years and they are not common, and back when the 222 was popular there were very few if any left hand 222's
That's an easy one...get a left hand 223 and re-barrel/re-chamber it to 222.I've watched this thread from the start and no one has posted a pic of a left hand 222 yet, I have been looking for one for several years and they are not common, and back when the 222 was popular there were very few if any left hand 222's
