222

I just tried Benchmark and a 50 grain TNT. Not so good. this is a 722 with a Hart 19 inch heavy Varmint in a 40X stock. It prefers H322 and Vmax or IMR 4198.

Great cartridge, lots of fun, easy shooting, not loud, low recoil. A "noob" att he range watched my daughter age 16 shoot off the bench and had never heard of the 222. He was most impressed with the fact the gun hardly moved...then he saw her groups and forgot all about recoil. He was amazed (though she wasn't happy with the load at all)

I hope to never be without a Duece.

Many a rifle shooter learned how to do it right with a 222. I have good luck with 4198 and H-322. 4198 don't meter so well, it's kind of a pain...but it is worth the effort. The Hornady SX bullets work very well when I can find them. One bullet I have had extremely good results with but not mentioned yet is the Varmageddon, either 40 or 53 grain. Not an expensive bullet, but as varmint bullets go it is definitely one of the most accurate.

I have had terrible problems with blc-2 in hot humid weather any of you experienced this?

Not me, but I'm pretty much in the desert.:p BLC and H 335 were always two of my favorite powders for my 222. I never felt the need to weigh my loads with those.

I turned my 222 into a 20-222, and BLC is working good for that also. jd

I had a first year issue 722 with the original 10X Weaver.Came with CH dies and a can of 4198.... along with load and dope.Would tell y'all about the groups @100 but you wouldn't believe it anyway. It was a Ghog jacking machine!

IMR 4198 worked best for me. You want to talk humidity come to Tennessee. It just plain ole sucks here in the summer. I used a 50 gr Nosler with best accuracy with the IMR 4198. Killed a lot of ground hogs and crows with it. Pretty red mist, only problem was,you had better be a good wind reader.
