20230322_180623.jpgI'm only interested in loads with 52 grain match bullets, and accuracy. I will give up 200 or more fps, for as little as .1" smaller groups

I gave up finding H-4198, and see RX7 being favorite as well. This made LT-32 very interesting, seeing it is exactly listed between the 2 in burn rate. So I made a trade here with a member that I have shot with before for a jug of Varget, for his jug of LT-32.

First trip out I loaded one each of 21.5, 21.8, 22.0, 22.3, 22.5, 22.8, and 23.0. I wanted to see how hot I can take it safely, and with little to know relevant data, and being told some lots are very hot, I wanted to be sure before starting any load development.

Day one and three shot groups. I took 5 loads, and found two to try again. Both over 3200 fps. Good enough for my needs.

I will now shoot both again 2 five shot groups each, to see if one is maybe my go load for competition? Hopefully the 22.8 grain load is the one I am most hoping for, with lower extreme spread, and less than 50 fps faster for a half of grain of powder. It sure looks the most efficient.

I got good velocity and accuracy from LT-32, but it like to chew on the throat.
Another reason I hope the milder loads proves itself with the 5 shot groups.

I have a custom 222 .246" neck reamer, on order, being made now, 16 week expected wait
So off season here before I have it, but I have a very sweet, Krieger 2011 vintage, uncut LV contour waiting for this rifle as we speak.

This all started over a Pence barrel a guy had in 17 cal. That he refused to sell unless I bought the stock and action with it. I took a gamble for 500 bucks, and thought what do you do with a Panda that has a .223 bolt. Little did I think it would end up eating the money I will end up with in this rifle. But building it on the first 222 Remington case, the first I've owned, it sparked some new enthusiasm in in those old man!

Nothing wrong with those groups, I could look at that rifle picture all day :)
Thank you for those comments, close up it has some little blems, but that's because I didn't think it would come out this good with spray cans, I'll redo it this off-season when I get the Krieger chambered.

Just feed the 222 some 52gr bullets and that's all she needs.;)
I wish it was that easy for Bench Rest, but them guys are serious and make you work to win! Besides they cheat,,,, their shooting 6mm ppcs for the most part, or a 30BR. Make no mistake, I need every little i-dotted!

But be sure I'm running 52 grain Bib bullets, Randy knows how to make bullets, and the best 52's I've found today.

Did you borescope it to see if it was actual erosion. I'm thinking was a burr or maybe a bit of grit in your tube when you did your initial measurement?

In the barrel with N133 it's 29.7-30.3. In the barrel with LT-32 I was using 28.8-29.3. Most of the time it was with 29.1grs.

Time for a little update after about 100 rounds with the new powder. 22.8 seems to be the happy spot in my gun the 3 outings i have shot it. All three have been close temp and humidity wise, within 10 degrees and 10% tp 15% humidity wise.

Well I have shot one match with the new load and am delighted! I learned this new rifle prefers a well fowled barrel, at least with this powder.

My first two relays were 8 shots maybe 9 and clean after the first relay. I didn't clean after the first relay and targets 3,4,5 were in the .1's and one was a low .2

I have seen no change in my throat what soever, and so far 22.8 is it's happy spot! I intend to shoot my 6mm ppc in two weeks at the next match, but will report after a few more outing if I see any change!

As of now I waiting on a new 222 reamer, and when I cut this new Krieger (2011 vintage) I intend on trying some old school Remington 52 grain match bullets using my now new 222 powder! I will definitely report on that, if I live long enough to take possession of the new reamer after a 16 week wait! TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK,,,,,
