Pretty sure the original selling price was $50 in 1989. Over the years, the price has continued to skyrocket. I paid $200 for mine around 10 yrs ago. Current prices range from $400-$800. To find one priced affordable, you'd have to get lucky at an Estate sale, book sale, or Goodwill where the seller has no clue on it's current collectible value.

65Swede, you are going to really enjoy that rifle. Accuracy typically comes easy. They are not picky with components. Mine do well with 53gr flat base bullets for accuracy testing. For varmints, the Hornady 50gr SPSX are very good. Sierra Blitz are also excellent. At modest velocities these are not explosive on woodchuck size varmints. Goes in, and it’s DRT. No exit.

I don’t want to derail this thread, but do you hunt game with a Swede?

Yes I hunt with a Swede. I use a Tikka T3 Superlite. Excellent rife and cartridge for coues. Have also taken antelope and elk with the same rifle.
