221 Half Hornet

Using the 221 Remington Fireball as a start, has anyone shortened the case body to reduce case capacity to make a compromise between the 22 Hornet and the 221 Rem Fireball ?

There are several wildcats with cases of approx that capacity but based on different brass. 22 Carbine or 22 Spitfire based on 30 Carbine case. 218 Mashburn Bee based on 218 Bee. But I see no reason you can't do what you suggest. And don't be surprised if somebody else has already done it.

Have 22 Hornet and 218 Bee rifles.

But want a cartridge to build on a conventional left-hand bolt action like a Savage or Remington.
