221 Fireball brass from Nosler

I really do not know where I read this but does any one know if Lapua are doing a run of 221 fireball brass.

Editor: See comments. There is .221 Fireball from Nosler. None from Lapua.

Re: Lapua 221 Fireball brass

You may be thinking of Nosler...they apparently have made a run of .221 Fireball according to a post on Saubier.com.

Re: Lapua 221 Fireball brass

Nosler .221 ammo. uses Remington brass according to a rep. at Nosler.

Re: Lapua 221 Fireball brass

Nosler would be the company. I heard/read that Norma makes Nosler cases. You certainly can form your own Lapua Fireball cases from .222 or .223 cases. I use LC to make .17 Rem FB. I had a .222 that needed a barrel, from prior owner's abuse not wear, and I screwed on a .223 for my son. I have several hundred Lapua cases from that are destined for reforming if I don't relplace it soon, looking at a Sako now. :-[

Re: Lapua 221 Fireball brass

Norma makes most brass for Nosler, but not .221 Fireball according to Nosler. Not enough volume for Norma to tool up.

Re: Lapua 221 Fireball brass

It's Nosler & it is currently avilable at Midway, as is the Rem brass. Kevin has said in the past that Lapua has a lot on their plate ahead of any Fireball run. If you want really great Fireball brass, it's fairly easy to make from new LC (when & if it becomes available again), IMI if you can find it or Lapua. Adam Bentley has made quite a bit of 20VT brass & Fireball brass from the LC & it is outstanding.

NORMA does make a good portion of the NOSLER brass. The belted magnums, and some of the larger cases. Most of the smaller cases are made by Remington, and Winchester.

Acording to the introduction on this site:

http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/2012/03/nosler-to-release-221-fireball-brass-in-a-month-or-two/

there is the second paragraph that states:

"We tried to find out the name of the third-party source without success. However, Nosler did confirm that this brass “is definitely NOT made by Remington“."

I have a couple hundred pcs of the Nosler brass, and have just necked the first 50 to 20 Vartarg. The level of quality is certainly better than the Remington stuff I had new in the bag. I haven't even fired the first load yet, so much is unknown.
