Came upon a nice 22 Mag in an estate sale and curious what others have found to work best for them ammo wise. It's an Anschutz 1516 sporter rifle so I doubt I'll put a tuner on this one. Just been a long time since I've owned a 22 mag of any kind and lots of new and better ammo offerings, I hope, from 30 years ago or whatever it's been now.. maybe longer. Thanks in advance.--M

My Anschutz m# 64 .22 WMR shot, the CCI 40 Gr. HP's, a Bit better than, the Winchester ammo But , there are, a lot MORE Choices, today ! Buy One of everything and, go,.. Test !
The CCI's were, Sage Rat and Jack Rabbit,.. killing Machines ( 20-30,.. years, ago ! )

Thank ya! Can I borrow some money too. Lol! It's a toy but we all like accurate toys. I was gonna buy a few different types to test and then buy a brick if I'm lucky enough to get the same lot soon after testing it. It's a plinker that I won't shoot a ton so just a bricks work will last me a decent little while, especially after the new wears off.

Shot many different loads in my 1516. The best groups at 100 yards that I got was 3/4 inch. That was with Hornady 30 gr. V-Max. As always, wind conditions play an important part. Dispatched many prairie dogs even past 130 yards with that ammo. Love the 22 magnum!
