I have been experimenting quite a bit comparing all the apps Strelock, Ballistics arc, lapuas and Hornady vs what my Kestrel says.
one thing I have really noticed though is that my wind drift suggestions are usually about double in all apps/kestrel to what I need. This hasn’t been a one time thing but over the last couple months I usually take my wind drift suggestion and cut it in half and that is usually pretty close. I am lucky in a since that I can shoot out of my basement window to the 260 yard berm so I usually will collect my data, compare and come up with a solution then shoot 1-3 shots to see if my calculations were close. Sometimes I do this several times a day with different wind conditions. The main thing that stands out is that my drifts are always quite a bit off. Has anyone else had this issue or what could be the problem? Just FYI I have trued up my apps to my SK or Center-X ammo depending on what one I am shooting.
