22 Sabre Jet - 22/256 - 22 Super Jet - 22 Jet Improved

I have a custom Martini in 22/256 (256 Winchester Magnum Necked down to 22) with a 1:14 barrel and having sold my last 256 have a couple hundred pieces of 256 brass that I've necked down to 22. Previously I've loaded this round with 50g bullets and AA2200. Has anyone loaded this round with 40 or 45 grain bullets? There are some loads in Ackley but they're not much help. I have H4198, H116, AA1680, and AA2200 on hand as likely powders as well as a a variety of 40-55g bullets. The application is for a potential ground squirrel hunt. Last time I went to these alfalfa field shots were out to 200 yards and I mostly shot my 17 Ackley Bee. The brass I have is 256 necked down to 22 as well as brass made from 357 magnum. My barrel has quite a lot of free bore and the test loads I made up with 50g Hornady SX bullets did not touch the lands. I also made up a few loads with 40g Blitzkings and H116 just to try. Previously I shot the 50g Vmax bullet with AA2200 but I don't have anymore of these on hand nor does anyone seem to have suitable 50g bullets in stock.

thanks,

Randy

The question is a year and a half old, but I am on the same quest for the same thing in a very similar rifle, also known as 22 Super Jet. You mentioned H4198. The data and powder I have is IMR 4198, but they are very close. Thus far, I am using 40 and 45 grain bullets with 16 grains of IMR 4198. I'm early in my load development at this point, but that's a place to start. I'll update this thread later with more info as I accumulate it.
