.22 PPC Recoil

OK, give me a hard time, but I took my .22 PPC out the other day, and it seemed to generate a bit of a kick, I am using Varget loads 28.0 Gr with CCI benchrest primers thru a Mini Mauser, I must admit that I was off hand over my truck and not the best rest in the world, but still, these little things shouldn't kick at all or should they? I am using 40 Gr. V-max. I usually shoot a 6MM model 700.
Any ideas??

Could be related to "stock design". I have a 22 Hornet that when fired, feels like someone is stabbing me with a knife.
And I shoot a M1A and love it!:D

NorCalMikie,
Thanks for the reply,
Actually, it seems to have subsided, I am sure it was the position that I was in leaning over the front of my truck. Prior informed replies have suggested the use of a break, I have been reading about these, and I am thinking of giving one of these a try.
I had a Timney trigger installed in this gun, and am very happy with the performance.
Take care Gunmedic.

I don't know what kind of experience you have shooting high powered rifles, but so far as recoil goes, the 22ppc has almost none. If the recoiol of this cartridge is to much, then I would suggest a brake for any future rifle purchases, 22 cal and above. I'm not saying that brake's have no place on 22's, but when one is used, it's generally not because of percieved recoil.
