22 Nosler updated velocities

Finally got around to replacing my chronograph. Looks like out of my Wilson Combat I’m averaging just over 3400fps with the factory 55g ballistic tip. That 300-400fps is the difference with coyote hunting. Only had one to run 50yds or so before going down. The other 15 folded in their tracks. All were shot at 170 yards or closer. With my .223 (factory 55grain ballistic tips) I would always have a few each season that would run a bit before going down. That extra speed is definitely a game changer. Even shot one black yote which was pretty cool

I played with mine in the wind a bit last week, last prairie dog hunt of the year I imagine.
Mine is a bolt rig, Howa mini. We have a love hate relationship. The oryx chassis leaves a lot to be desired for me.
It ticks me off at home, but almost impresses me in the field, go figure. I have shot 40-75 grain bullets at home with nothing to talk about. Suppose I need to show it some attention. First thing I will address is the trigger.

I shoot all 24" barrels out of the .22 Nosler - and the factory loads do all they say with those barrels (A/R's.) Here is a new bolt gun for which I'm getting ready to bed the action. Bat action, a few fresh Krieger 1-8" twist 26" tubes smithed by Chesebro rifles. Mark does good work! Really looking forward to see what kind of velocity I can get from this rig. Nice thing about the .22 Nosler is that the barrel remains almost as cool as a .223.

I know mark fairly well, good work.
He's done several builds for me.
When you see him tell him the guy from Ford is very content with the 270-08
