.22 mag

hey there im pretty sure this is not a very good coyote rifle...but is it?im not too sure on the stats overall and im wondering what the yardedge and such is. i do alot of calling and do pull them in pretty close but i dont want to spend over 900 hundred dollars on a 22-250, canadian prices are rediculous!!! thanks for any advice! B

ive shot woodchucks out to 150 yards with a winchester 34 grain JHP .22 mag out of a marlin bolt action. i love that round and wish i still had the rifle.

Oldmanschild I have shot a coyote at 100 yds. right in the boiler room and it ran off yelping. At that moment I decided that the .22 mag was just not enough to put a coyote down for the count. Been shooting centerfires at them ever since. Started with a .223 Rem and it performed ok but, wanted a better rifle. Sold that one and purchased a .22/250 bolt gun and haven't been happier. A good .223 bolt gun will do what you want it to do on coyotes out to 250-300 yds. There is a considerable price jump when you go from the rimfires to the centerfires but, you get what you pay for!

I'll tell ya they aren't cheap anywhere! I payed $900 for mine and have some where between $1300 and $1400 in it after a scope, rings, and bases. The gun is sweet shootin though and worth every penny!

Oldmanschild,
Put a WTB ad on this site for what you're looking to buy & see what happens. I trust this site & mostly all I've seen are honest & reliable folks who are not out to rip you.
