22 Dasher (vs. .22-250) with 40gr NBT for coyotes

I have a 12 twist 6 dasher. I run the 65 Vmax at 3600 with H335. I ran up to well over 3800 with ZERO PSI signs, but it shot itty bitty groups at 3600 and a prarie dog at 400 to 500 doesn't care much about a 7 -8 % velocity increase....but I am sure I will increase BBL life!!!! I also run the 58 Vmax at over 4000. It also shoots the 75's very , very well!!

If I was to build a dedicated yote rig, this would be it!!!

Just my .02,
Tod

Tod,

What powder are you using to run the 58`s @ 4000?????

38 G of H335. I took it up to 40 grains and l saw slight PSI on the brass (slightly shiney ejector marks) and felt no PSI with bolt lift.. I was not using a chrono since this was to be strictly a P dog BBL, so I wasn't fussing with min ES. I didn't run them over a chrono till AFTER I had found my load and was working out a drop chart.

BUT...the 58 did not shoot as well as the 65's. The ONLY reason I even loaded them up was because I had bought 300 of them to test....simply need to get rid of them. The 65 at 3600 shoots AWSOME and the brass should last forever as this is a powder puff load. I had someone run the numbers and they were showing pressure in the low 50,000 range. If I remember right the 58's at 4000 was about 65000. Obviously I am near the end at 65000/4000/38g with the 58 Vmax!!!!!!
Good stuff,

Tod
