22 dasher freebore question for reamer

What’s the best freebore I’m gonna get a ptg reamer if anyone can help with that as well gonna get a ptg but any help would b greatly appreciated I’m gonna b running 80 something grain Bullets in a 1-8 twist barrel thanks

I would think your intentions are critical. Shootem as fast as they will run, max freebore, chase the lands or seat'em deeper, less freebore, giving up horsepower? Whatever it is, have all the fun you can.

I’d suggest a .100 FB

also skip PTG and go with JGS you’ll be much happier

You'd be surprised, I just cut one with .220" for 95s.

Left is .220" Right is .100". The .220" places the boat tail bearing surface at the neck shoulder junction.

You'd be surprised, I just cut one with .220" for 95s.

That’s a 95 he’s talking 80’s big big difference between the 2
With that short neck I’d stick with a .100 for the 80’s. I’ve shot enough 22 dashers that if he’s needing to chase the throat he needs all he can get for barrel use in the throat.
Also I’d suggest at the speeds the 22 Dasher produces use the Sierra 80’s as Bergers just don’t do well at those velocities for accuracy.

That's my point, .175 isn't too much. It's on the high end but not out of the question. .100 will put about .060-.080 below the neck/ shoulder on 80s in a Dasher depending on barrel land configuration.

I looked on jgs website an there is nothing on there every time u click on reamer nothin. Comes up and how is everyone forming there brass or because I hydroform my 6dashwr brass and I was thanking about doing that then be kind it down to 22cal
