22 Creedmoor, which bullet for tack driving accuracy, for Fox shooting.

Hi.
I'll be getting a rifle built in the very near future, chambered in 22 Creedmoor.
It will be mainly a fox rifle and distances will be anything up to 600 yards, from a 24 inch barrel, 1:8 twist barrel.
Would also be used to head/neck shoot smaller deer species, until the lead ban comes into force, and then it will become just a Fox and vermin rifle. I'll then use monolithic bullets in the 7mm-08 for deer and wildboar at that stage.

I also always "try" to achieve close to "target shooting" accuracy as I can with my handloads, in any hunting rifle. Half MOA is my preffered MAXIMUM group sizes. I don't like to see paper between bullet holes when zeroing at 100 yards if I can help it! Accuracy and terminal performance are always at the top of my list. I'm not chasing warp speeds. I would rather sacrifice speed in order to achieve maximum and consistent accuracy.

What would be people's bullet choice for my requirements?

Are you trying to save the hides? If not, then most any match bullet should work fine. If saving hides then it's a totally different game.

No, hides are not important to me.

I think I'll start my initial load testing with the 75 ELD-M and the 77 SMK and see how they shoot through it.

Always hard for me to guess what you can get over there, but really just about any match bullet or high-quality game bullet will do for a fox as long as you don't care about the hide.

It really does boil down to what you can find in that category and if it agrees with your barrel.

To hit small targets with a cold bore shot at 600, means the rig has to like the particular bullet.

If you were to test the fresh bbl with just a few shots and it doesn't look promising, you will want to have a variety at the ready. I would try and get some with tangent and secant ogive since the tangent always seem to do pretty well regardless of the jump and the secant tend to be hit or miss.

Near sea level with an 8 twist, your 77 TMK or SMK is a good starting guess. If you have some 80 SMK ready, those also tend to do well. Good Luck and in for the range reports.

I shoot the 80 ELDX out of mine. Better BC than the 75/77's and accuracy has been very good.

I go with a smaller cal for fox,something like a 222 Rem.,but that is just me
owning a 22 Cm I would shoot a 80+ gr bullet mine is a 7 twist though

Good thing about going to the 80gr is it makes for a deer legal round in Jockistan (aka Scotland).

Hornady just announced a 65 grain mono bullet designed for 8 twist 22 Creedmoor speeds. No speed limit and super long bullet for above average ballistic coefficiency. I would imagine that it would perform great for hunting if stood on hard enough.

I set mine up for Hornady 62-grain ELD-VT with 26-inch and 9T. I'm hoping for 3600 fps. This was built for rock chucks though.

I like the 69 TMK's when the need for speed calls, Great bullet
As is their standard 69 SMK as well, the TMK just adds a nice boost to B.C.
For extreme longer range accuracy, the Berger 85.5 serve me well and can handle high velocities
The Berger 85.5 is what I use for 3650 fps long rage accuracy

Hobbs, I don't have creedmoor but do have an 8 twist 22-250. I run 69 gr. Sierra HPBT with H380.
If you like groups without paper between shots try that combo in your Creedmoor. Adjust powder charge accordingly for the bigger case.
