Should do as well as the 22-250 AI. Do not use the same load data.Any members shooting the 80.5 Bergers with the 22 Creedmoor? Saw the post for the 22-250 AI and was wondering how this bullet would do in my new 22 Creedmoor. Wondering how it would do in an 1:8 twist. H-4350?
42.2gn of H4350, Lapua srp 6.5cm brass necked down, CCI 450 primer and an 80.5gn Berger nets me 3393pfs from a 22" 8 twist rock creek. They are devastating on critters.
What freebore and neck are you using for the lapua brass? Are you turning necks? And have you tried alpha brass? Thanks
GAP specs on the reamer with .080freebore and .2575 neck. I use a .252 bushing on Lapua brass and .251 on Hornady. Not turning any necks. Alpha brass showed pressure far earlier than Lapua and didn't give the speed to make up for the pressure, so we quit trying Alpha. The Lapua SRP has by far been the best brass we have run in this cartridge.
No. 80.5's shot so well, I couldn't be bothered to mess with another load development. When it shoots 0.1-0.2 and clobbers any critter I have shot with it, I didn't see any point. "Ain't broke, don't fix it."Thanks for the info. Have you tried the 80gr vld JLK’s ?

I probably over think it, but I neck down in several steps to avoid moving too much brass at once. Chamfer the OD of the mouth, then neck down with .283, .273, .263, .253 (or whatever bushing I have that is pretty close). I was getting a little flare at the very lip of the case mouth, so I ran them through the expander die on my turning kit, then sized with either the .252 for Lapua or .251 for Hornady brass. A bit excessive, but I have not had any doughnut problems, accuracy and run out have been excellent. You could probably jump a little farther between bushing. I know guys that knock down 6.5 brass in 2 stages and 6cm brass in 1 pass. I prefer to massage it down, rather than put it in a headlock. Are you necking down in one step or two? Any donut problems?
