22 BRA SEATING DIE?

I figure that a 22 br seater is the one to use? Thinking of a Forster? Hoping to work up one load, set seating stem and leave it there til need dictates changing. Any better options? Don't want to go over $100 if I don't need to?.. Thanks for any advice...rsbhunter

You can run the Reamer in that sleeve, just make sure you clean it up.

I’d use a 221 fireball sleeve if I could find it. That’ll clean up without a doubt.

I'm getting a prefit barrel, so the reamer isn't available.... was hoping that the reg seater would produce accurate ammo.....? Thanks, rsbhunter

Seating with a 6BRA die should work. I’ve seated 22 GT with a 6GT die.

I bet that prefit fella would ream the sleeve though. His customer service is pretty good, if it’s who I think it is.

For right now , I'm limited to a conventional press and die set up. Might order a Forster die chamber for 22br, already have a 22 seating stem for it. I am seriously considering an arbor press, just don't know if the added expense will prove cost worthy? Is there a worthwhile gain in changing to the arbor, I only shoot out to 600 yards...Thanks for all the replies, the knowledge on this forum is MASSIVE!!! rsbhunter

Buy an arbor press. Go to Wilson seaters. True improvement.

Ive used the Franklin universal seating die with good success when I’m waiting for dies, it’s come in handy multiple times. With my long range rifles I typically use a Wilson die with a 21st century arbor press with a pressure indicator but as UR points out you have a lot of feel with just a standard arbor press. If your seating force is erratic, too easy or too hard, you’ll feel it. Run out with the Wilson Arbor seating dies is minimal. The majority of my rifles I use a Redding competition seater or a short action customs seater, just makes it easy, you still have some feel with a Rock Chucker, much more than a progressive press but not as much as an arbor press.
