I built a 22 ARC a few months ago and am having a weird issue with the Hornady black ammo. Initially I shot around 120 rounds of the 62 grain with zero problems. Then this started happening when using the black ammo. Upon feeding, the cartridge does not go completely into battery and it gets really stuck. I mean it takes both hands and sometimes banging the butt off the rifle against something while pulling the charging handle. The cartridge shown was from yesterday and was the fourth round out of the mag. Once it was loose, I caught it in my hand so all of the damage was done on chambering.
After getting that round out, I shot a couple boxes of the white box 88's without issue. I'm probably just not going to shoot any more of the black ammo but would like to know what's causing the problem.
Aero enhanced upper, 22" Bartlein from Craddock Precision/their headspaced bolt, Superlative adjustable gas block, suppressed.
