22-6mm AI, Opinions, guys???

Do you have any idea how many rounds would be fired before the barrel would be scrap? I know for a fact, personal documented experience) that the typical 22-250 will last approx. 2300 rounds, and the 243 Win. is done at around 1400. The infamous "Cheeta" is good for 800.

I shoot 73gr Berger BT's with N560 and get 3600fps and nice accuracy with the load. Don't know about longevity since I only have 500 rounds down the tube, but I like the round.

i have a regular .224 tth ,22-6mm) and I love the round and it depends on what type of accuracy loss your acceptable will be your deciding factory. I have about 500 or so rounds down mine and it shoots as good as I need still.

Thats the best way I know of to spend more money than is needed for something that won't last very long....
I managed to get 800 rounds out of mine before it was toasted...
It shot great but so do many others that will last a lot longer.

I have a reamer laying around here and just waiting to find a reasonably priced set of dies and then will experment more with it. Punched out a Rem takeoff 22/250 tube. Only load I tried firmforming brass was a somewhat disappointing 3900fps with a 50BT. Accuracy mediocre so thinking it was not the best test barrel. Used 22/250AI dies for seating etc.

If anybody has or knows of a set of dies for sale for the 22/6mm Improved I am looking. Thinking it would make a barrel burning coyote rd. Figured punching out takeoff tubes until I find a real shooter would make the low round count a nonissue for myself.

Like mine so far. VERY flat shooting round.

Using WS2 coated 69 gr Nosler/Sierra HPBT's or 75 gr AMax at 35xx fps with excellent termination on prairie dogs.
